A concert by Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali has been cancelled after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena(MNS) issued a threat to Pakistani artistes.

In a letter to the jurisdictional police, Bengaluru’s authorities of forum mall wrote: “… due to the deterioration of relation between the neighbours country we have instructed not to conduct any activity involving artist from Pakistan at the venue.”
The statement added that the event was planned by radio station earlier this.

On Wednesday morning, Vishwa Hindu Parisht (VHP) and Bajrang Dal had asked city police commissioner to deny permission to the event.

In their letter they said an event involving Pakistani artist was inappropriate while India is diplomatically responding to the attack on army headquarters in Uri.
Bengaluru police officers told TOI that although a letter was received, the decision to cancel to the function was taken by the organizers voluntarily and it was communicated to the local police.
