The first season of ‘True Detective’, created by Nic Pizzolatto, was cited as one of the strongest dramas of 2014. With jam-packed characters and self-contained story, the movie stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were a pleasure to watch.

Whereas it seems that Pizzolatto was under too much pressure to deliver something original for the second time and hence, he cracked off. ‘Season 2’ proved to be a disaster because of poor casting and a poorer script. You just cannot put Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams in the same league as McConaughey and Harrelson. More importantly, the only thing that soared in the second season was the number of characters. Rest everything, just died down.

Anyways, bygone is bygone. However, this is a good news for ‘True Detective’ lovers. Matthew McConaughey is willing to do season 3. Not believing us? Well, listen to his recent interview at ‘Rich Eisen Show’ where he talked about his fondness for the show.

Let’s hope Mr. Pizzolatto and McConnaughey together create the same old magic and the show gets its true respect back!
