The mother of Hindu girl Nimisha aka Fathima, who recently went missing along with 20 others from Kerala, has alleged that a youth hailing from the district was suspected to have forced her daughter to convert to Islam.
25-year-old Nimisha is suspected to have joined ISIS along with her husband Eeza (Bexon Vincent), who also converted to Islam. Fathima got married to Eeza during the final year of their BDS course at Century International Institute of Dental Science at Poinachi in Kasargod district on November 11, 2015.
“Mom’s sweet daughter going to bed, Kisses”!! she wrote in her last Whatsapp message on June 3. Since then Nimisha is not responding to any messages.
Bindu, the mother who hails from Thekkeveedu, Attukal, was shocked to know that her daughter’s name was there in the list of Islamic State (IS) recruits from Kerala.
Bindu said the youth hailing from Attingal used to visit Nimisha in the college frequently and she was even subjected to abortion.
“The youth had forced Nimisha to convert to Islam by offering to marry her, but had ditched her,” she said.
Bindu said that Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act should be invoked against him.
The Kerala police are looking into his involvement as Nimisha was introduced to her husband Bexen only days before their wedding. Police are investigating whether the man, a Muslim, had inspired her to convert. His links with others who left India is also being looked into.
