Kareena Kapoor Khan had been breaking stereotypes, giving #PregnancyGoals and totally glowing all throughout the nine months of her pregnancy. Post-pregnancy too, she did not shy away from walking the ramp with all her glorious pregnancy weight.
And now, Kareena Kapoor and her dietician Rujuta Diwekar did a Facebook Live chat to spill the beans on not just her pregnancy diet but also her post-pregnancy plans to get back in shape. The video has stirred quite a response with close to a million views in a matter of seven hours.
Bebo says that she thoroughly enjoyed her pregnancy because of a comfortable diet that Rujuta gave her.
I flaunted it, double chin and all, until the day I walked into the hospital. People said I could eat grilled fish or meat to avoid putting on weight. But I wanted to do it the conventional way, the right way. So I ate it all, but in the right quantities,” she said.
She continued sharing how ghee, rice and pizza were all part of her diet and never once did an issue of weight gain bother her.
I enjoyed my pregnancy and the world saw it. I had support from everyone and I was just flaunting it. I carried Taimur with a lot of joy, strength, and energy. I put on 18 kilos but I flaunted it till the day I walked into the hospital… I say it with a lot of pride that he’s the most gorgeous child, not because he’s mine but also because I ate a lot of ghee. All the ghee, all the paranthas, all the pizzas have gone into it. But it’s fine.”
However, post pregnancy, Kareena was in a mood to shed her weight as soon as possible, but Rujuta asked her to slow down.
“When I finally met Rujuta after I delivered, I was in panic mode and I said we have to do something that will accelerate weight loss. I told her I’ll be very dedicated. The only thing she says is you have to have faith in her,” Bebo added.Advertisement
Rujuta says she doesn’t moderate Kareena’s diet in a depriving manner but just keeps a tab on the quantity, with a few basic rules like not eating while watching T.V or going to bed by 10:00 PM.
One of the best things about Kareena is that her diet has always been a very sustainable one, something that always makes people feel that she’s just lying through her teeth because she couldn’t possibly be eating all this and also losing weight.
Rujuta has told Kareena that her new diet will take seven months as she doesn’t want to rush the process.
Because we don’t want to go one step forward and two steps back, which is what happens when you do a crash or extreme diet.
